This gene is a member of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) gene family, that are zinc-dependent enzymes capable of cleaving components of the extracellular matrix and molecules involved in signal transduction. The protein encoded by this gene is a gelatinase A, type IV collagenase, that contains three fibronectin type II repeats in its catalytic site that allow binding of denatured type IV and V collagen and elastin. Unlike most MMP family members, activation of this protein can occur on the cell membrane. This enzyme can be activated extracellularly by proteases, or, intracellulary by its S-glutathiolation with no requirement for proteolytical removal of the pro-domain. This protein is thought to be involved in multiple pathways including roles in the nervous system, endometrial menstrual breakdown, regulation of vascularization, and metastasis. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Win

The MMP2 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (1H1) is a highly specific and reliable tool for the detection and quantification of Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced using advanced monoclonal antibody technology, ensuring high purity and consistency in every batch.

MMP2, also known as gelatinase A, plays a crucial role in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue homeostasis. Dysregulation of MMP2 has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including cancer metastasis, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammatory disorders. Therefore, accurate measurement of MMP2 levels is essential for understanding disease progression and developing targeted therapeutic interventions.

The MMP2 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (1H1) exhibits exceptional sensitivity and specificity, enabling precise detection of MMP2 even at low concentrations. It recognizes both the proenzyme and active forms of MMP2, ensuring comprehensive analysis of MMP2 activity. This antibody has been extensively validated in various experimental settings, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA).

With its superior performance and versatility, the MMP2 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (1H1) is an indispensable tool for researchers and clinicians involved in MMP2-related studies. Its reliable and reproducible results will contribute to advancing our understanding of MMP2 biology and its implications in disease mechanisms.
