This gene encodes a member of the vaccinia-related kinase (VRK) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. This gene is widely expressed in human tissues and has increased expression in actively dividing cells, such as those in testis, thymus, fetal liver, and carcinomas. Its protein localizes to the nucleus and has been shown to promote the stability and nuclear accumulation of a transcriptionally active p53 molecule and, in vitro, to phosphorylate Thr18 of p53 and reduce p53 ubiquitination. This gene, therefore, may regulate cell proliferation. This protein also phosphorylates histone, casein, and the transcription factors ATF2 (activating transcription factor 2) and c-JUN.

The VRK1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of VRK1 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human VRK1 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards VRK1 protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications such as Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry.

The VRK1 Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples, and has been extensively tested for its specificity and sensitivity. It is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified using protein A chromatography. The antibody is provided in a liquid form, and is ready-to-use for various applications.

The VRK1 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of VRK1 protein in various biological processes such as cell cycle regulation, DNA damage response, and apoptosis. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal reagent for the detection and quantification of VRK1 protein in various biological samples.
