This gene encodes a lung surfactant protein that is a member of a subfamily of C-type lectins called collectins. The encoded protein binds specific carbohydrate moieties found on lipids and on the surface of microorganisms. This protein plays an essential role in surfactant homeostasis and in the defense against respiratory pathogens. Mutations in this gene are associated with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
The SFTA1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of SFTA1 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region of human SFTA1 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards SFTA1 protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
The SFTA1 Polyclonal Antibody is purified using a combination of protein A and peptide affinity chromatography, ensuring high purity and minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins. This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. It is recommended to store the antibody at -20°C for long-term storage and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
The SFTA1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of SFTA1 protein in various biological processes such as lung development, lung cancer, and respiratory diseases. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal reagent for the detection and quantification of SFTA1 protein in various biological samples.
