The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma.
The RB(PHOSPHO THR826) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated RB protein at threonine 826 residue. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylated threonine 826 of the RB protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards the phosphorylated RB protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.
The RB(PHOSPHO THR826) Polyclonal Antibody is suitable for use in various immunoassays, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry. It has been validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples, and has been shown to detect endogenous levels of phosphorylated RB protein in various cell lines and tissues. This antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, and has been tested for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications.
In summary, the RB(PHOSPHO THR826) Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and high-quality reagent for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated RB protein at threonine 826 residue. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.
