The enzyme encoded by this gene is an arylesterase that mainly hydrolyzes paroxon to produce p-nitrophenol. Paroxon is an organophosphorus anticholinesterase compound that is produced in vivo by oxidation of the insecticide parathion. Polymorphisms in this gene are a risk factor in coronary artery disease. The gene is found in a cluster of three related paraoxonase genes at 7q21.3.
Introducing the PON1 Polyclonal Antibody, a highly specific and sensitive tool for the detection and quantification of Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human PON1 protein, followed by purification using protein A affinity chromatography.
The PON1 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. It recognizes both human and mouse PON1 protein with high affinity and does not cross-react with other related proteins.
This antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of PON1 in various physiological and pathological processes, including cardiovascular disease, inflammation, and oxidative stress. It can also be used for diagnostic purposes in clinical settings, such as monitoring PON1 levels in patients with cardiovascular disease or other related disorders.
In summary, the PON1 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and versatile tool for the detection and quantification of PON1 protein in various biological samples. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an essential tool for researchers and clinicians alike.
