This gene encodes a member of the mucin family of proteins, which are highly glycosylated macromolecular components of mucus secretions. This family member is the major gel-forming mucin in mucus. It is a major contributor to the lubricating and viscoelastic properties of whole saliva, normal lung mucus and cervical mucus. This gene has been found to be up-regulated in some human diseases, including sinus mucosa of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), CRS with nasal polyposis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and H. pylori-associated gastric disease, and it may be involved in the pathogenesis of these diseases.

The MUC5B Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of MUC5B protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human MUC5B protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and validated for its specificity and sensitivity through various assays.

The MUC5B Polyclonal Antibody is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. It has been shown to specifically recognize MUC5B protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. This antibody is also suitable for use in detecting MUC5B expression in various tissues, including lung, trachea, and salivary gland.

The MUC5B Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of MUC5B in various physiological and pathological processes, including respiratory diseases, cancer, and inflammation. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for detecting MUC5B protein in various biological samples.
