The protein encoded by this gene is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase is known to play a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. It phosphorylates and thus activates MAPK1/ERK2 and MAPK2/ERK3. The activation of this kinase itself is dependent on the Ser/Thr phosphorylation by MAP kinase kinase kinases. Mutations in this gene cause cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome (CFC syndrome), a disease characterized by heart defects, mental retardation, and distinctive facial features similar to those found in Noonan syndrome. The inhibition or degradation of this kinase is also found to be involved in the pathogenesis of Yersinia and anthrax. A pseudogene, which is located on chromosome 7, has been identified for this gene.
The MEK-2(Phospho Thr394) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool for the detection and quantification of MEK-2 protein phosphorylated at threonine 394. This antibody has been rigorously validated for its performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
The MEK-2 protein plays a crucial role in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, which regulates various cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Phosphorylation of MEK-2 at threonine 394 is a key event in the activation of this protein and subsequent downstream signaling.
This polyclonal antibody has been developed using state-of-the-art techniques and high-quality materials to ensure its specificity and sensitivity. It has been extensively tested and validated to provide reliable and reproducible results. The antibody exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with non-phosphorylated MEK-2 and other related proteins, ensuring accurate detection of the phosphorylated form.
The MEK-2(Phospho Thr394) Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, ready to use for various applications. It is provided in a convenient size and concentration, allowing for easy handling and storage. The antibody is compatible with a wide range of experimental conditions and can be used in both research and clinical settings.
In summary, the MEK-2(Phospho Thr394) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly reliable and specific tool for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated MEK-2 protein. Its exceptional performance and versatility make it an essential component for studying the MAPK signaling pathway and its involvement in various cellular processes.
