This gene encodes a member of the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family that includes decorin, biglycan, fibromodulin, keratocan, epiphycan, and osteoglycin. In these bifunctional molecules, the protein moiety binds collagen fibrils and the highly charged hydrophilic glycosaminoglycans regulate interfibrillar spacings. Lumican is the major keratan sulfate proteoglycan of the cornea but is also distributed in interstitial collagenous matrices throughout the body. Lumican may regulate collagen fibril organization and circumferential growth, corneal transparency, and epithelial cell migration and tissue repair.
The LUM Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of LUM protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a recombinant LUM protein, ensuring its high affinity and specificity towards the target protein.
The LUM Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). It exhibits excellent sensitivity, allowing for the detection of even low levels of LUM protein in complex biological matrices.
This antibody is manufactured using state-of-the-art techniques and undergoes rigorous quality control measures to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and reliability. It is supplied as a ready-to-use solution, eliminating the need for time-consuming and error-prone antibody preparation steps.
