Lymphotoxin beta is a type II membrane protein of the TNF family. It anchors lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface through heterotrimer formation. The predominant form on the lymphocyte surface is the lymphotoxin-alpha 1/beta 2 complex (e.g. 1 molecule alpha/2 molecules beta) and this complex is the primary ligand for the lymphotoxin-beta receptor. The minor complex is lymphotoxin-alpha 2/beta 1. LTB is an inducer of the inflammatory response system and involved in normal development of lymphoid tissue. Lymphotoxin-beta isoform b is unable to complex with lymphotoxin-alpha suggesting a function for lymphotoxin-beta which is independent of lympyhotoxin-alpha. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
The LT-beta Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody that has been developed for the detection of LT-beta protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human LT-beta protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
The LT-beta Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. It has been shown to specifically recognize LT-beta protein in human, mouse, and rat samples, with no cross-reactivity with other related proteins. The antibody has a high affinity for its target protein, allowing for sensitive detection even at low concentrations.
This antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of LT-beta protein in various biological processes, including inflammation, immune response, and cancer. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for detecting and quantifying LT-beta protein in complex biological samples. The LT-beta Polyclonal Antibody is available in various sizes to meet the needs of different research applications.
