The protein encoded by this gene is the 80-kilodalton subunit of the Ku heterodimer protein which is also known as ATP-dependant DNA helicase II or DNA repair protein XRCC5. Ku is the DNA-binding component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase, and it functions together with the DNA ligase IV-XRCC4 complex in the repair of DNA double-strand break by non-homologous end joining and the completion of V(D)J recombination events. This gene functionally complements Chinese hamster xrs-6, a mutant defective in DNA double-strand break repair and in ability to undergo V(D)J recombination. A rare microsatellite polymorphism in this gene is associated with cancer in patients of varying radiosensitivity.
The Ku-80 (Acetyl Lys565) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of Ku-80 protein acetylation at lysine 565. This antibody is produced using advanced polyclonal antibody production techniques, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards the target antigen.
The Ku-80 protein plays a crucial role in DNA repair and maintenance of genomic stability. Acetylation of lysine 565 has been shown to regulate the function of Ku-80, making it an important post-translational modification to study. This polyclonal antibody allows for the precise detection and quantification of acetylated Ku-80, enabling researchers to gain valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying DNA repair processes.
The Ku-80 (Acetyl Lys565) Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for various applications, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits excellent sensitivity and specificity, ensuring reliable and reproducible results in both qualitative and quantitative analyses.
This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, ready for immediate use. It is provided in a convenient size, allowing for multiple experiments without the need for frequent reordering. The product is stored at optimal conditions to maintain its stability and functionality.
Researchers and scientists in the fields of molecular biology, genetics, and DNA repair will greatly benefit from the Ku-80 (Acetyl Lys565) Polyclonal Antibody. Its high quality, reliability, and specificity make it an indispensable tool for studying the intricate mechanisms of DNA repair and the role of acetylation in regulating Ku-80 function.
