The protein encoded by this gene is an enzymatic component of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, or Krebs cycle, and catalyzes the formation of L-malate from fumarate. It exists in both a cytosolic form and an N-terminal extended form, differing only in the translation start site used. The N-terminal extended form is targeted to the mitochondrion, where the removal of the extension generates the same form as in the cytoplasm. It is similar to some thermostable class II fumarases and functions as a homotetramer. Mutations in this gene can cause fumarase deficiency and lead to progressive encephalopathy.
The FH Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of FH protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human FH protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards FH protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.
The FH Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its performance in various immunoassays, including Western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It recognizes both native and recombinant forms of FH protein from human, mouse, and rat sources. The antibody has been shown to exhibit minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
The FH Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified from rabbit serum using protein A chromatography. The antibody is provided in a liquid form, ready to use for various applications. It is recommended to store the antibody at -20°C for long-term storage and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In summary, the FH Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent that can be used for the detection and quantification of FH protein in various biological samples. Its high affinity and specificity make it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.
