Cytochrome c oxidase (COX) is the terminal enzyme of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. It is a multi-subunit enzyme complex that couples the transfer of electrons from cytochrome c to molecular oxygen and contributes to a proton electrochemical gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane. The complex consists of 13 mitochondrial- and nuclear-encoded subunits. The mitochondrially-encoded subunits perform the electron transfer and proton pumping activities. The functions of the nuclear-encoded subunits are unknown but they may play a role in the regulation and assembly of the complex. This gene encodes the nuclear-encoded subunit IV isoform 1 of the human mitochondrial respiratory chain enzyme. It is located at the 3' of the NOC4 (neighbor of COX4) gene in a head-to-head orientation, and shares a promoter with it. Pseudogenes related to this gene are located on chromosomes

The COX4 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of COX4 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human COX4 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.

The COX4 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial function and metabolism, as COX4 is a key subunit of the cytochrome c oxidase complex, which plays a critical role in the electron transport chain and oxidative phosphorylation. This antibody can be used to investigate the expression and localization of COX4 in various tissues and cell types, as well as to monitor changes in COX4 levels under different physiological and pathological conditions.

The COX4 Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified using a COX4 peptide column. This antibody is provided in a liquid format, and can be used directly for various applications without the need for further purification or concentration. The antibody is also available in different sizes and formats to suit different experimental needs.

Overall, the COX4 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and high-quality reagent that can help researchers to better understand the role of COX4 in mitochondrial function and metabolism, and to advance our knowledge of various physiological and pathological processes.
