This gene is one of seven beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase (beta4GalT) genes. They encode type II membrane-bound glycoproteins that appear to have exclusive specificity for the donor substrate UDP-galactose; all transfer galactose in a beta1,4 linkage to similar acceptor sugars: GlcNAc, Glc, and Xyl. Each beta4GalT has a distinct function in the biosynthesis of different glycoconjugates and saccharide structures. As type II membrane proteins, they have an N-terminal hydrophobic signal sequence that directs the protein to the Golgi apparatus and which then remains uncleaved to function as a transmembrane anchor. By sequence similarity, the beta4GalTs form four groups: beta4GalT1 and beta4GalT2, beta4GalT3 and beta4GalT4, beta4GalT5 and beta4GalT6, and beta4GalT7. The enzyme encoded by this gene is a lactosylceramide synthase important for glycolipid biosynthesis.

The B4GT6 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of B4GALT6 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a specific region of the B4GALT6 protein sequence. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards the target protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.

The B4GT6 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its performance in various immunoassays, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. It has been shown to detect B4GALT6 protein in a wide range of species, including human, mouse, rat, and others. The antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified from rabbit serum using protein A chromatography. This ensures high purity and minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins.

The B4GT6 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of B4GALT6 in various biological processes, including glycosylation, cell adhesion, and cancer progression. It can also be used for the development of diagnostic assays for diseases associated with B4GALT6 dysregulation. With its high specificity and sensitivity, this antibody is a reliable and effective reagent for a wide range of applications in life sciences research.
