This gene encodes a lipid-binding protein belonging to the apolipoprotein gene family. The protein is secreted in plasma where it is a component of very low density lipoprotein. This protein activates the enzyme lipoprotein lipase, which hydrolyzes triglycerides and thus provides free fatty acids for cells. Mutations in this gene cause hyperlipoproteinemia type IB, characterized by hypertriglyceridemia, xanthomas, and increased risk of pancreatitis and early atherosclerosis. This gene is present in a cluster with other related apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 19. Naturally occurring read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream apolipoprotein C-IV (APOC4) gene.

The APOC2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of Apolipoprotein C2 (APOC2) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring exceptional quality and reliability.

Apolipoprotein C2 is a crucial component of lipoprotein particles and plays a vital role in lipid metabolism. It is primarily synthesized in the liver and intestines and is involved in the activation of lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme responsible for the hydrolysis of triglycerides. APOC2 is also known to modulate the uptake and clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins, thereby influencing plasma lipid levels.

The APOC2 Polyclonal Antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards APOC2, enabling accurate and precise detection in a wide range of applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). Its polyclonal nature ensures recognition of multiple epitopes, enhancing sensitivity and reducing the risk of false negatives.

This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, ready for immediate use. It has been rigorously validated to ensure consistent performance, batch-to-batch reproducibility, and minimal background interference. The APOC2 Polyclonal Antibody is compatible with various sample types, including serum, plasma, cell lysates, and tissue extracts, facilitating versatile experimental designs.

With its exceptional sensitivity and specificity, the APOC2 Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for researchers and clinicians investigating lipid metabolism, cardiovascular diseases, and related disorders. Trust in its superior performance to advance your scientific endeavors and gain valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms governing lipid homeostasis.
