Myosin| a structural component of muscle| consists of two heavy chains and four light chains. The protein encoded by this gene is a myosin light chain that may regulate muscle contraction by modulating the ATPase activity of myosin heads. The encoded protein binds calcium and is activated by myosin light chain kinase. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
The Myosin Light Chain 2 (Phospho-Thr19/Ser20) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated Myosin Light Chain 2 (MLC2) at Thr19 and Ser20 residues. This antibody is produced in rabbits through immunization with a synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to the phosphorylated Thr19/Ser20 region of MLC2.
Myosin Light Chain 2 is a crucial component of the actomyosin contractile apparatus, playing a pivotal role in various cellular processes such as muscle contraction, cell migration, and cytokinesis. Phosphorylation of MLC2 at Thr19 and Ser20 is known to regulate its activity and influence the contractile properties of smooth muscle cells.
The Myosin Light Chain 2 (Phospho-Thr19/Ser20) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with non-phosphorylated MLC2 and other related proteins, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, purified by affinity chromatography, and preserved in a buffer solution containing stabilizing agents to maintain its activity and integrity. It is provided in a convenient size of 100 µg, allowing for multiple experiments and applications.
Researchers and scientists in the fields of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry can benefit from the Myosin Light Chain 2 (Phospho-Thr19/Ser20) Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody as a valuable tool for investigating the phosphorylation status and functional implications of MLC2 in various biological systems. Its high specificity, sensitivity, and reliability make it an essential component of any research involving the study of MLC2 phosphorylation.
