This gene is a member of the Tre-2/BUB2/CDC16 domain family. The protein encoded by this gene is a Rab-GTPase-activating protein| and contains two phopshotyrosine-binding domains (PTB1 and PTB2)| a calmodulin-binding domain (CBD)| a Rab-GTPase domain| and multiple AKT phosphomotifs. This protein is thought to play an important role in glucose homeostasis by regulating the insulin-dependent trafficking of the glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4)| important for removing glucose from the bloodstream into skeletal muscle and fat tissues. Reduced expression of this gene results in an increase in GLUT4 levels at the plasma membrane| suggesting that this protein is important in intracellular retention of GLUT4 under basal conditions. When exposed to insulin| this protein is phosphorylated| dissociates from GLUT4 vesicles| resulting in increased GLUT4 at the cell surface| and enhanced glucose transport. Ph
The TBC1D4(Phospho Thr642) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of TBC1D4 protein phosphorylated at threonine 642. This antibody is produced using advanced techniques and rigorous quality control measures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
TBC1D4, also known as AS160, is a key regulator of glucose uptake in skeletal muscle and adipocytes. Phosphorylation of TBC1D4 at threonine 642 plays a crucial role in the regulation of insulin-stimulated glucose transport. Therefore, the ability to accurately measure the phosphorylation status of TBC1D4 at this specific site is of great importance in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying glucose metabolism and insulin signaling.
The TBC1D4(Phospho Thr642) Polyclonal Antibody exhibits high specificity towards the phosphorylated form of TBC1D4 at threonine 642, with minimal cross-reactivity to non-phosphorylated TBC1D4 or other related proteins. This antibody has been extensively validated in various experimental settings, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence, demonstrating its versatility and reliability.
