The serine-threonine protein kinase encoded by the AKT1 gene is catalytically inactive in serum-starved primary and immortalized fibroblasts. AKT1 and the related AKT2 are activated by platelet-derived growth factor. The activation is rapid and specific, and it is abrogated by mutations in the pleckstrin homology domain of AKT1. It was shown that the activation occurs through phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase. In the developing nervous system AKT is a critical mediator of growth factor-induced neuronal survival. Survival factors can suppress apoptosis in a transcription-independent manner by activating the serine/threonine kinase AKT1, which then phosphorylates and inactivates components of the apoptotic machinery. Mutations in AKT1 have been associated with the Proteus syndrome. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.

The Phospho-Akt1 (T72) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated Akt1 at threonine 72 residue. This antibody is produced using advanced polyclonal antibody technology, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards the target protein.

Phosphorylation of Akt1 at threonine 72 plays a crucial role in regulating its activity and downstream signaling pathways. This antibody enables researchers to investigate the phosphorylation status of Akt1 in various biological samples, including cell lysates and tissue extracts.

The Phospho-Akt1 (T72) Polyclonal Antibody exhibits exceptional performance in a wide range of applications, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. It demonstrates minimal cross-reactivity with non-phosphorylated Akt1 and other related proteins, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

With its high sensitivity and specificity, this antibody offers researchers a valuable tool for studying the role of Akt1 phosphorylation in various cellular processes, such as cell survival, proliferation, and metabolism. Its robust performance and reproducibility make it an ideal choice for both basic research and clinical investigations.

The Phospho-Akt1 (T72) Polyclonal Antibody is supplied in a convenient and ready-to-use format, allowing for easy integration into laboratory workflows. It is provided in a liquid formulation, ensuring stability and ease of handling.

In summary, the Phospho-Akt1 (T72) Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and efficient tool for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated Akt1 at threonine 72 residue. Its high specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it an indispensable asset for researchers in the field of cellular signaling and molecular biology.
