Catenin beta-1 encoded by CTNNB1 is part of a complex of proteins that constitute adherens junctions (AJs). AJs are necessary for the creation and maintenance of epithelial cell layers by regulating cell growth and adhesion between cells. The encoded protein also anchors the actin cytoskeleton and may be responsible for transmitting the contact inhibition signal that causes cells to stop dividing once the epithelial sheet is complete. Finally, this protein binds to the product of the APC gene, which is mutated in adenomatous polyposis of the colon. Mutations in this gene are a cause of colorectal cancer (CRC), pilomatrixoma (PTR), medulloblastoma (MDB), and ovarian cancer. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
The Phospho-Catenin-Beta (Y654) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of phosphorylated Catenin-Beta at tyrosine 654 residue. This antibody is produced using advanced polyclonal antibody technology, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards the target antigen.
Catenin-Beta is a crucial component of the Wnt signaling pathway, playing a pivotal role in cell adhesion and gene transcription regulation. Phosphorylation of Catenin-Beta at tyrosine 654 residue has been implicated in various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration. Therefore, the detection and quantification of phosphorylated Catenin-Beta at this specific site are of great importance in understanding the underlying mechanisms of these cellular processes.
The Phospho-Catenin-Beta (Y654) Polyclonal Antibody exhibits exceptional performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. It has been rigorously validated for its specificity and sensitivity, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. This antibody demonstrates minimal cross-reactivity with non-phosphorylated Catenin-Beta and other related proteins, further enhancing its specificity.
