ATF2 encodes a transcription factor (activating transcription factor 2) that is a member of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. Activating transcription factor 2 has been identified as a moonlighting protein based on its ability to perform mechanistically distinct functions. Activating transcription factor 2 binds to the cAMP-responsive element (CRE), an octameric palindrome. It forms a homodimer or a heterodimer with c-Jun and stimulates CRE-dependent transcription. This protein is also a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) that specifically acetylates histones H2B and H4 in vitro; thus it may represent a class of sequence-specific factors that activate transcription by direct effects on chromatin components. Activating transcription factor 2 may also be involved in cell's DNA damage response independent of its role in transcriptional regulation. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this ATF2.
The Phospho-ATF-2 (T73) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of phosphorylated ATF-2 at threonine 73 residue. This antibody is produced using advanced polyclonal antibody technology, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards the target protein.
ATF-2, also known as activating transcription factor 2, is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in cellular responses to various stress stimuli. Phosphorylation of ATF-2 at threonine 73 residue is a key regulatory event in its activation and subsequent transcriptional activity. Therefore, the detection and quantification of phosphorylated ATF-2 at this specific site is of great importance in understanding the cellular stress response mechanisms.
The Phospho-ATF-2 (T73) Polyclonal Antibody exhibits exceptional performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. This antibody demonstrates minimal cross-reactivity with non-phosphorylated ATF-2 and other related proteins, further enhancing its specificity.
With its high affinity and sensitivity, the Phospho-ATF-2 (T73) Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for researchers studying cellular stress response pathways, signal transduction, and transcriptional regulation. Its reliable performance and specificity make it an ideal choice for both basic research and clinical applications.
