Actin aortic smooth muscle encoded by ACTA2 belongs to the actin family of proteins, which are highly conserved proteins that play a role in cell motility, structure and integrity. Alpha, beta and gamma actin isoforms have been identified, with alpha actins being a major constituent of the contractile apparatus, while beta and gamma actins are involved in the regulation of cell motility. This actin is an alpha actin that is found in skeletal muscle. Defects in this gene cause aortic aneurysm familial thoracic type 6. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
The Alpha-SMA Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and reliable tool designed for the detection and quantification of alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced using advanced immunization techniques, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards α-SMA.
With its exceptional sensitivity, this polyclonal antibody enables accurate and precise analysis of α-SMA expression levels in tissues and cells. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, western blotting, and flow cytometry.
The Alpha-SMA Polyclonal Antibody exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other related proteins, ensuring reliable and specific results. Its superior performance and robustness make it an ideal choice for researchers and scientists working in the fields of cell biology, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine.
