Zinc transporter 8 encoded by SLC30A8 is a zinc efflux transporter involved in the accumulation of zinc in intracellular vesicles. SLC30A8 is expressed at a high level only in the pancreas, particularly in islets of Langerhans. The encoded protein colocalizes with insulin in the secretory pathway granules of the insulin-secreting INS-1 cells. Allelic variants of this gene exist that confer susceptibility to diabetes mellitus, noninsulin-dependent (NIDDM). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
The ZnT-8 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and reliable tool designed for the detection and analysis of ZnT-8 protein expression. This antibody is produced using advanced techniques, ensuring exceptional quality and performance in various applications, including immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and immunofluorescence.
The ZnT-8 Polyclonal Antibody exhibits a high affinity towards the ZnT-8 protein, enabling accurate and sensitive detection even at low expression levels. Its polyclonal nature allows for enhanced recognition of multiple epitopes, resulting in improved specificity and reduced cross-reactivity.
This antibody is meticulously validated to ensure consistent and reproducible results. It has been extensively tested on various tissue samples and cell lines, demonstrating excellent performance in detecting ZnT-8 expression in pancreatic beta cells. Its exceptional sensitivity and specificity make it an indispensable tool for researchers studying diabetes, as ZnT-8 is a key player in insulin secretion and beta cell function.
