VEGFB encodes a member of the PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) /VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) family. The VEGF family members regulate the formation of blood vessels and are involved in endothelial cell physiology. This member is a ligand for VEGFR-1 (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1) and NRP-1 (neuropilin-1). Studies in mice showed that this gene was co-expressed with nuclear-encoded mitochondrial genes and the encoded protein specifically controlled endothelial uptake of fatty acids. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
The VEGF-B Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor B (VEGF-B) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human VEGF-B. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
The VEGF-B Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in detecting VEGF-B in various biological samples, including human, mouse, and rat tissues. This antibody has been shown to recognize both the full-length and truncated isoforms of VEGF-B, making it a versatile tool for researchers studying the role of VEGF-B in various physiological and pathological processes.
This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. It is recommended to store the antibody at -20°C for long-term storage and to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
In summary, the VEGF-B Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and sensitive tool for the detection of VEGF-B in various biological samples. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for researchers studying the role of VEGF-B in various physiological and pathological processes.
