The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: e1 ubiquitin-activating enzymes, E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, and E3 ubiquitin-protein ligases. UBE3B (ubiquitin protein ligase E3B) encodes a member of the E3 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family which accepts ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme and transfers the ubiquitin to the targeted substrates. A HECT (homology to E6-AP C-terminus) domain in the C-terminus of the longer isoform of this protein is the catalytic site of ubiquitin transfer and forms a complex with E2 conjugases. Shorter isoforms of this protein which lack the C-terminal HECT domain are therefore unlikely to bind E2 enzymes. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for UBE3B.
The UBE3B Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of UBE3B protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human UBE3B protein. The UBE3B Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications.
The UBE3B Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the function and regulation of UBE3B protein in various biological processes. UBE3B is a ubiquitin ligase that plays a critical role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is responsible for the degradation of misfolded or damaged proteins. Dysregulation of UBE3B has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and developmental disorders.
The UBE3B Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified using protein A chromatography. This antibody is provided in a liquid format and can be stored at -20°C for long-term storage. The UBE3B Polyclonal Antibody is suitable for use in a variety of applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
In summary, the UBE3B Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody that is ideal for the detection of UBE3B protein in various biological samples. This antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the function and regulation of UBE3B in various biological processes and diseases.
