Endocytosis of cell surface proteins is mediated by a complex molecular machinery that assembles on the inner surface of the plasma membrane. STON1 encodes one of two human homologs of the Drosophila melanogaster stoned B protein. Stonin-1 is related to components of the endocytic machinery and exhibits a modular structure consisting of an N-terminal proline-rich domain, a central region of homology specific to the human stoned B-like proteins, and a C-terminal region homologous to the mu subunits of adaptor protein (AP) complexes. Read-through transcription of this gene into the neighboring downstream gene, which encodes TFIIA-alpha/beta-like factor, generates a transcript (SALF), which encodes a fusion protein comprised of sequence sharing identity with each individual gene product. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
The Stonin-1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and reliable tool designed for the detection and analysis of Stonin-1 protein expression in various biological samples. This antibody has been meticulously developed using advanced techniques to ensure exceptional sensitivity and specificity.
Stonin-1 is a crucial protein involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, playing a pivotal role in the internalization of synaptic vesicles. By binding to the clathrin adaptor protein AP-2, Stonin-1 facilitates the recruitment of synaptic vesicles to the plasma membrane, enabling efficient neurotransmitter release and synaptic transmission.
The Stonin-1 Polyclonal Antibody exhibits outstanding performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It has been extensively validated to provide accurate and reproducible results, making it an ideal choice for researchers studying synaptic vesicle trafficking and synaptic function.
This antibody is produced using high-quality materials and rigorous quality control measures to ensure batch-to-batch consistency and reliability. It has been affinity-purified from rabbit serum, resulting in a highly specific antibody with minimal cross-reactivity.
With its exceptional sensitivity and specificity, the Stonin-1 Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for investigating the intricate mechanisms underlying clathrin-mediated endocytosis and synaptic vesicle dynamics. Its reliable performance and versatility make it an invaluable asset for researchers in the field of neuroscience and molecular biology.
