SPTLC1 encodes a member of the class-II pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. The serine palmitoyltransferase long chain base subunit 1 is the long chain base subunit 1 of serine palmitoyltransferase. Serine palmitoyltransferase converts L-serine and palmitoyl-CoA to 3-oxosphinganine with pyridoxal 5'-phosphate and is the key enzyme in sphingolipid biosynthesis. Mutations in this gene were identified in patients with hereditary sensory neuropathy type 1. Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. Pseudogenes of this gene have been defined on chromosomes 1, 6, 10, and 13.
The SPTLC1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly reliable and efficient tool designed for the detection and analysis of serine palmitoyltransferase long chain base subunit 1 (SPTLC1) protein. This antibody is produced using advanced polyclonal antibody technology, ensuring exceptional specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
The SPTLC1 Polyclonal Antibody exhibits outstanding performance in detecting endogenous levels of SPTLC1 protein in a wide range of species, including human, mouse, and rat. It recognizes an epitope located within the N-terminal region of the SPTLC1 protein, enabling accurate and precise identification of this target protein.
With its high affinity and selectivity, this antibody offers researchers a valuable tool for investigating the role of SPTLC1 in various biological processes and disease states. It enables the exploration of SPTLC1's involvement in sphingolipid metabolism, cellular signaling pathways, and lipid homeostasis.
