MBTPS1 (membrane bound transcription factor peptidase, site 1) encodes a member of the subtilisin-like proprotein convertase family, which includes proteases that process protein and peptide precursors trafficking through regulated or constitutive branches of the secretory pathway. The encoded protein undergoes an initial autocatalytic processing event in the ER to generate a heterodimer which exits the ER and sorts to the cis/medial-Golgi where a second autocatalytic event takes place and the catalytic activity is acquired. It encodes a type 1 membrane bound protease which is ubiquitously expressed and regulates cholesterol or lipid homeostasis via cleavage of substrates at non-basic residues. Mutations in MBTPS1 may be associated with lysosomal dysfunction.
The SKI-1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody that has been developed for use in various research applications. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of the human SKI-1 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been purified using a combination of protein A and peptide affinity chromatography to ensure high specificity and purity.
The SKI-1 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for use in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence assays. It has been shown to specifically recognize the SKI-1 protein in a variety of human and animal tissues and cell lines. This antibody is suitable for use in both basic research and clinical applications.
The SKI-1 protein is a member of the subtilisin-like proprotein convertase family and plays a critical role in the processing of various proteins involved in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cell signaling. Dysregulation of SKI-1 has been implicated in a variety of diseases, including diabetes, obesity, and cancer. The SKI-1 Polyclonal Antibody provides a valuable tool for studying the function and regulation of this important protein.
In summary, the SKI-1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody that has been extensively validated for use in various research applications. Its high purity and specificity make it an ideal tool for studying the function and regulation of the SKI-1 protein in health and disease.
