SEPT8 is a member of the septin family of nucleotide binding proteins, originally described in yeast as cell division cycle regulatory proteins. Septins are highly conserved in yeast, Drosophila, and mouse, and appear to regulate cytoskeletal organization. Disruption of septin function disturbs cytokinesis and results in large multinucleate or polyploid cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
The Septin 8 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of Septin 8 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human Septin 8 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid solution in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
The Septin 8 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It recognizes a single band of approximately 45 kDa in Western blot analysis of human cell lysates. In addition, it shows strong staining of Septin 8 protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human tissues, indicating its suitability for use in immunohistochemistry.
This antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of Septin 8 protein in various biological processes, including cell division, cytoskeletal organization, and membrane trafficking. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for detecting Septin 8 protein in complex biological samples. With its reliable performance and consistent results, the Septin 8 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable addition to any research laboratory.
