Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 2 encoded by EIF2AK2 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that is activated by autophosphorylation after binding to dsRNA. The activated form of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 2 can phosphorylate translation initiation factor EIF2S1, which in turn inhibits protein synthesis. Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 2 encoded by EIF2AK2 is also activated by manganese ions and heparin. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for EIF2AK2.
The PKR Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of the protein kinase RNA-activated (PKR) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human PKR protein, and purified using protein A affinity chromatography. The PKR Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It recognizes both the phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated forms of PKR protein, and exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other related proteins. This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. It is suitable for use in research and diagnostic applications related to PKR-mediated signaling pathways, viral infections, and cancer. The PKR Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and valuable tool for researchers and clinicians seeking to investigate the role of PKR in various biological processes.
