The protein encoded by EIF2AK2 (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 2) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that is activated by autophosphorylation after binding to dsRNA. The activated form of the encoded protein can phosphorylate translation initiation factor EIF2S1, which in turn inhibits protein synthesis. This protein is also activated by manganese ions and heparin. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for EIF2AK2.
The Plakophilin 2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of Plakophilin 2 protein expression in various biological samples. This antibody has been meticulously developed using advanced immunization techniques and exhibits exceptional affinity and selectivity towards Plakophilin 2.
Plakophilin 2, a member of the armadillo protein family, plays a crucial role in cell-cell adhesion and maintenance of tissue integrity. It is primarily found in desmosomes, specialized cell junctions that provide mechanical strength to tissues subjected to mechanical stress. Dysregulation of Plakophilin 2 expression has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including skin disorders and cardiac diseases.
The Plakophilin 2 Polyclonal Antibody has been rigorously validated for its specificity and sensitivity through various experimental approaches, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other related proteins, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, ready for immediate use in a variety of applications. It is compatible with multiple species, including human, mouse, and rat, making it a versatile tool for researchers working in diverse fields of study.
With its exceptional performance characteristics and broad applicability, the Plakophilin 2 Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for investigating the role of Plakophilin 2 in cellular processes and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for both basic research and clinical applications.
