Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and second messenger diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate a wide variety of protein targets and are known to be involved in diverse cellular signaling pathways. PKC also serve as major receptors for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters. Each member of the PKC family has a specific expression profile and is believed to play distinct roles in cells. Protein kinase C gamma type encoded by PRKCG is one of the PKC family members. This protein kinase is expressed solely in the brain and spinal cord and its localization is restricted to neurons. It has been demonstrated that several neuronal functions, including long term potentiation (LTP) and long term depression (LTD), specifically require this kinase. Knockout studies in mice also suggest that this kinase may be involved in neuropathic pain development. Defects in this protein have been associated with neurodegenerative disorder spinocerebellar ataxia-14 (SCA14). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

The PKC Gamma Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of protein kinase C gamma (PKCγ) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human PKCγ. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is suitable for use in a variety of applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.

The PKC Gamma Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in detecting PKCγ in various tissues and cell lines. It has been shown to recognize a single band of the expected molecular weight in Western blotting and to produce strong and specific staining in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays. This antibody is also highly reproducible, with consistent results obtained across multiple experiments.

In addition to its high specificity and sensitivity, the PKC Gamma Polyclonal Antibody is also highly versatile. It has been successfully used in a wide range of applications, including studies of PKCγ function in various cellular processes, such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. It has also been used to investigate the role of PKCγ in various diseases, including cancer, neurological disorders, and cardiovascular diseases.

Overall, the PKC Gamma Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and effective tool for the detection of PKCγ in various biological samples. Its high specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it an ideal choice for researchers studying the function and regulation of PKCγ in health and disease.
