Three phosphofructokinase isozymes exist in humans: muscle, liver and platelet. These isozymes function as subunits of the mammalian tetramer phosphofructokinase, which catalyzes the phosphorylation of fructose-6-phosphate to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate. Tetramer composition varies depending on tissue type. PFKM encodes the muscle-type isozyme. Mutations in PFKM have been associated with glycogen storage disease type VII, also known as Tarui disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
The PFKM Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of phosphofructokinase, muscle type (PFKM) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human PFKM protein.
The PFKM Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. This antibody is suitable for use in research studies aimed at investigating the role of PFKM in various physiological and pathological processes, including glycolysis, muscle metabolism, and cancer.
The PFKM Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, and it is available in various sizes to meet the needs of different research applications. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the PFKM Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the function and regulation of PFKM in various biological systems.
