NECTIN1 encodes nectin cell adhesion molecule 1 that plays a role in the organization of adherens junctions and tight junctions in epithelial and endothelial cells. The protein is a calcium(2+)-independent cell-cell adhesion molecule that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and has 3 extracellular immunoglobulin-like loops, a single transmembrane domain (in some isoforms), and a cytoplasmic region. This protein acts as a receptor for glycoprotein D (gD) of herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 (HSV-1, HSV-2), and pseudorabies virus (PRV) and mediates viral entry into epithelial and neuronal cells. Mutations in this gene cause cleft lip and palate/ectodermal dysplasia 1 syndrome (CLPED1) as well as non-syndromic cleft lip with or without cleft palate (CL/P). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding proteins with distinct C-termini.
The Nectin 1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of Nectin 1 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human Nectin 1 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid solution in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
The Nectin 1 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It recognizes a single band of approximately 65 kDa in Western blot analysis of human, mouse, and rat cell lysates. In addition, it shows strong staining of Nectin 1 protein in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human tissues, including liver, lung, and kidney.
This antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of Nectin 1 in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation. It can also be used for diagnostic purposes in the detection of Nectin 1 expression in cancer tissues. The Nectin 1 Polyclonal Antibody is available in various sizes and formats to meet the specific needs of researchers. It is a reliable and high-quality antibody that provides accurate and reproducible results.
