NCOR1 (nuclear receptor corepressor 1) encodes a protein that mediates ligand-independent transcription repression of thyroid-hormone and retinoic-acid receptors by promoting chromatin condensation and preventing access of the transcription machinery. It is part of a complex which also includes histone deacetylases and transcriptional regulators similar to the yeast protein Sin3p. NCOR1 is located between the Charcot-Marie-Tooth and Smith-Magenis syndrome critical regions on chromosome 17. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Pseudogenes of NCOR1 are found on chromosomes 17 and 20.
The N-CoR Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of N-CoR protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminal region of human N-CoR protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry.
The N-CoR protein is a transcriptional corepressor that plays a critical role in regulating gene expression in various cellular processes, including development, differentiation, and metabolism. Dysregulation of N-CoR expression has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders. Therefore, the N-CoR Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of N-CoR in these diseases.
This antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified using protein A chromatography. The antibody is provided in a liquid format, which is ready to use for various applications. The N-CoR Polyclonal Antibody is highly specific and sensitive, with minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins, making it an ideal tool for researchers studying N-CoR protein expression and function.
