L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Glutamatergic neurotransmission is involved in most aspects of normal brain function and can be perturbed in many neuropathologic conditions. The metabotropic glutamate receptors are a family of G protein-coupled receptors, that have been divided into 3 groups on the basis of sequence homology, putative signal transduction mechanisms, and pharmacologic properties. Group I includes GRM1 and GRM5 and these receptors have been shown to activate phospholipase C. Group II includes GRM2 and GRM3 while Group III includes GRM4, GRM6, GRM7 and GRM8. Group II and III receptors are linked to the inhibition of the cyclic AMP cascade but differ in their agonist selectivities.
The mGluR-6 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of metabotropic glutamate receptor 6 (mGluR-6) protein expression. This antibody is produced through a rigorous process of immunization and purification, ensuring its high affinity and specificity towards mGluR-6.
The metabotropic glutamate receptor 6 is a G-protein coupled receptor that plays a crucial role in the transmission of visual signals from the retina to the brain. It is predominantly expressed in the retinal ON-bipolar cells, where it modulates synaptic transmission and contributes to the processing of visual information.
The mGluR-6 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits exceptional sensitivity and specificity, enabling accurate and reliable detection of mGluR-6 protein expression in various biological samples.
This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, allowing for easy and convenient handling. It is provided in a ready-to-use format, eliminating the need for additional reagents or preparations. The mGluR-6 Polyclonal Antibody is compatible with a wide range of experimental conditions and can be used in both research and clinical settings.
With its exceptional performance and reliability, the mGluR-6 Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for researchers and scientists studying the role of mGluR-6 in visual signal processing and related fields. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for accurate and precise detection of mGluR-6 protein expression, facilitating further understanding of its function and potential therapeutic applications.
