There are approximately 40 known eukaryotic LIM proteins, so named for the LIM domains they contain. LIM domains are highly conserved cysteine-rich structures containing 2 zinc fingers. Although zinc fingers usually function by binding to DNA or RNA, the LIM motif probably mediates protein-protein interactions. LIM kinase-1 and LIM kinase-2 belong to a small subfamily with a unique combination of 2 N-terminal LIM motifs and a C-terminal protein kinase domain. LIM domain kinase 2 by LIMK2 is phosphorylated and activated by ROCK, a downstream effector of Rho, and the encoded protein, in turn, phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. It is thought that this pathway contributes to Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. At least three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
The LIMK-2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of LIM domain kinase 2 (LIMK-2) protein expression in various biological samples. This antibody is produced using advanced immunization techniques, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards LIMK-2.
LIMK-2 is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell motility. It is involved in various cellular processes, including cell migration, adhesion, and invasion. Dysregulation of LIMK-2 has been implicated in several pathological conditions, such as cancer metastasis and neurodegenerative diseases.
The LIMK-2 Polyclonal Antibody has been rigorously validated for its performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits excellent sensitivity and specificity, enabling accurate and reliable detection of LIMK-2 protein expression in both normal and diseased tissues.
This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, allowing for easy handling and storage. It is provided in a convenient size, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimizing wastage. The LIMK-2 Polyclonal Antibody is compatible with a wide range of secondary detection systems, facilitating its integration into existing experimental protocols.
In summary, the LIMK-2 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers and scientists studying the role of LIMK-2 in cellular processes and disease pathogenesis. Its high specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it an essential component in various research applications, contributing to a better understanding of LIMK-2 biology and its potential as a therapeutic target.
