The import of proteins into the nucleus is a process that involves at least 2 steps. The first is an energy-independent docking of the protein to the nuclear envelope and the second is an energy-dependent translocation through the nuclear pore complex. Imported proteins require a nuclear localization sequence (NLS) which generally consists of a short region of basic amino acids or 2 such regions spaced about 10 amino acids apart. Proteins involved in the first step of nuclear import have been identified in different systems. These include the Xenopus protein importin and its yeast homolog, SRP1 (a suppressor of certain temperature-sensitive mutations of RNA polymerase I in Saccharomyces cerevisiae), which bind to the NLS. KPNA2 (karyopherin subunit alpha 2) protein interacts with the NLSs of DNA helicase Q1 and SV40 T antigen and may be involved in the nuclear transport of proteins. KPNA2 also may play a role in V(D)J recombination. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

The Karyopherin Alpha2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of Karyopherin Alpha2 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced using state-of-the-art techniques, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards the target protein.

Karyopherin Alpha2, also known as Importin Alpha2, plays a crucial role in the nuclear import of proteins. It acts as a receptor for nuclear localization signals (NLS) present on cargo proteins, facilitating their transport into the nucleus. Dysregulation of Karyopherin Alpha2 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

The Karyopherin Alpha2 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its performance in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other related proteins, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, ready for immediate use. It is provided in a convenient size, allowing for multiple experiments without the need for frequent reordering. The product is stored at -20°C to maintain its stability and activity.

With its exceptional sensitivity and specificity, the Karyopherin Alpha2 Polyclonal Antibody is an indispensable tool for researchers studying nuclear import mechanisms and investigating the role of Karyopherin Alpha2 in various biological processes. Its reliable performance and ease of use make it an ideal choice for both basic research and clinical applications.
