Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. This structure consists of approximately 146 bp of DNA wrapped around a nucleosome, an octamer composed of pairs of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). The chromatin fiber is further compacted through the interaction of a linker histone, H1, with the DNA between the nucleosomes to form higher order chromatin structures. This gene is intronless and encodes a replication-dependent histone that is a member of the histone H3 family. Transcripts from this gene lack polyA tails; instead, they contain a palindromic termination element. This gene is found in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6p22-p21.3.
The Histone H4 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of Histone H4 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human Histone H4 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid formulation in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
The Histone H4 Polyclonal Antibody is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It has been validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples and has been shown to exhibit minimal cross-reactivity with other histone proteins. The antibody has a high affinity for Histone H4 protein and can detect both the unmodified and modified forms of the protein.
This antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying epigenetics, chromatin structure, and gene regulation. It can be used to investigate the role of Histone H4 in various biological processes, including DNA replication, transcription, and repair. The Histone H4 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and robust reagent that can provide accurate and reproducible results in a wide range of experimental settings.
