GPT2 (glutamic--pyruvic transaminase 2) encodes a mitochondrial alanine transaminase, a pyridoxal enzyme that catalyzes the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to generate pyruvate and glutamate. Alanine transaminases play roles in gluconeogenesis and amino acid metabolism in many tissues including skeletal muscle, kidney, and liver. Activating transcription factor 4 upregulates this gene under metabolic stress conditions in hepatocyte cell lines. A loss of function mutation in GPT2 has been associated with developmental encephalopathy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
The GPT2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of GPT2 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human GPT2 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
The GPT2 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in detecting GPT2 protein in various tissues and cell lines. It exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins, ensuring accurate and reliable results. This antibody has also been shown to be highly reproducible, providing consistent results across multiple experiments.
The GPT2 Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. It is available in various sizes to meet the needs of different applications. This antibody is suitable for use in both research and diagnostic applications and is an essential tool for studying the function and regulation of GPT2 protein in various biological processes.
