MAPK1 (mitogen-activated protein kinase 1) encodes a member of the MAP kinase family. MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals, and are involved in a wide variety of cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation and development. The activation of this kinase requires its phosphorylation by upstream kinases. Upon activation, this kinase translocates to the nucleus of the stimulated cells, where it phosphorylates nuclear targets. One study also suggests that this protein acts as a transcriptional repressor independent of its kinase activity. The encoded protein has been identified as a moonlighting protein based on its ability to perform mechanistically distinct functions. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein, but differing in the UTRs, have been reported for MAPK1.
The ERK 2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2 (ERK 2) protein. This antibody is produced using advanced techniques and rigorous quality control measures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
The ERK 2 Polyclonal Antibody exhibits exceptional affinity and selectivity towards ERK 2, making it an ideal choice for various applications, including western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It recognizes both the phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated forms of ERK 2, enabling comprehensive investigation of its activation status.
With its superior sensitivity, this antibody allows for the detection of low abundance ERK 2 protein levels, facilitating accurate quantification and analysis. Its robust performance ensures consistent and reproducible results, making it an indispensable tool for researchers in the fields of cell signaling, cancer biology, and drug discovery.
The ERK 2 Polyclonal Antibody is supplied in a convenient and ready-to-use format, eliminating the need for time-consuming preparation. It is provided in a liquid formulation, ensuring ease of use and minimizing the risk of sample contamination.
Furthermore, this antibody has been extensively validated using various experimental approaches, guaranteeing its reliability and specificity. It exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other related proteins, ensuring accurate and specific detection of ERK 2.
In summary, the ERK 2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly reliable and specific tool for the detection and analysis of ERK 2 protein. Its exceptional sensitivity, robust performance, and extensive validation make it an invaluable asset for researchers seeking to unravel the complexities of ERK 2 signaling pathways and its implications in various biological processes.
