Opsins are members of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor superfamily. In addition to the visual opsins, mammals possess several photoreceptive non-visual opsins that are expressed in extraocular tissues. This gene, opsin 3, is strongly expressed in brain and testis and weakly expressed in liver, placenta, heart, lung, skeletal muscle, kidney, and pancreas. OPN3 may also be expressed in the retina. The protein has the canonical features of a photoreceptive opsin protein.
The Encephalopsin Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of encephalopsin protein expression in various biological samples. This antibody is produced using advanced immunization techniques, ensuring high affinity and specificity towards encephalopsin.
Encephalopsin, also known as OPN3, is a photopigment found in the mammalian retina and plays a crucial role in non-image forming visual functions. It is involved in regulating circadian rhythms, pupillary light reflex, and melatonin suppression. The Encephalopsin Polyclonal Antibody enables researchers to investigate the expression and localization of encephalopsin in different tissues and cell types, providing valuable insights into its physiological and pathological roles.
This antibody has been rigorously tested and validated for various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It exhibits excellent sensitivity and specificity, allowing for accurate and reliable detection of encephalopsin protein in complex biological samples.
The Encephalopsin Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation, ready for immediate use. It is provided in a convenient size and concentration, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimizing wastage. The antibody is compatible with a wide range of experimental conditions and can be used in both research and clinical settings.
In summary, the Encephalopsin Polyclonal Antibody is a highly reliable and efficient tool for the detection and analysis of encephalopsin protein expression. Its exceptional sensitivity, specificity, and versatility make it an invaluable asset for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of non-image forming visual functions and related physiological processes.
