The protein encoded by E2F4 is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors. The E2F family plays a crucial role in the control of cell cycle and action of tumor suppressor proteins and is also a target of the transforming proteins of small DNA tumor viruses. The E2F proteins contain several evolutionally conserved domains found in most members of the family. These domains include a DNA binding domain, a dimerization domain which determines interaction with the differentiation regulated transcription factor proteins (DP), a transactivation domain enriched in acidic amino acids, and a tumor suppressor protein association domain which is embedded within the transactivation domain. E2F transcription factor 4 binds to all three of the tumor suppressor proteins pRB, p107 and p130, but with higher affinity to the last two. It plays an important role in the suppression of proliferation-associated genes, and its gene mutation and increased expression may be associated with human cancer.
The E2F-4 (Acetyl Lys96) Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of E2F-4 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the acetylated lysine 96 of the E2F-4 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.
The E2F-4 protein is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in the regulation of cell cycle progression and DNA replication. The acetylation of lysine 96 in the E2F-4 protein has been shown to be important for its transcriptional activity. Therefore, the E2F-4 (Acetyl Lys96) Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the function and regulation of E2F-4 protein.
This antibody has been validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence. It has been shown to specifically recognize the acetylated lysine 96 of the E2F-4 protein and does not cross-react with other E2F family members or non-acetylated E2F-4 protein.
In summary, the E2F-4 (Acetyl Lys96) Polyclonal Antibody is a high-quality antibody that is ideal for the detection and analysis of E2F-4 protein in various biological samples. Its specificity and sensitivity make it an essential tool for researchers studying the function and regulation of E2F-4 protein.
