Keratin 5 encoded by KRT5 is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the basal layer of the epidermis with family member KRT14. Mutations in these genes have been associated with a complex of diseases termed epidermolysis bullosa simplex. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13.

The Cytokeratin 5 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and analysis of Cytokeratin 5 (CK5) protein expression. This antibody is produced using advanced techniques, ensuring its high affinity and specificity towards CK5.

Cytokeratin 5 is a member of the intermediate filament family of proteins and is primarily expressed in basal cells of stratified epithelia. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial tissues and is involved in various cellular processes, including cell migration, adhesion, and differentiation.

The Cytokeratin 5 Polyclonal Antibody is suitable for a wide range of applications, including immunohistochemistry (IHC), western blotting (WB), and immunofluorescence (IF). It has been extensively validated for its performance in various experimental settings, ensuring reliable and reproducible results.

With its exceptional sensitivity and specificity, this antibody enables researchers to accurately detect and quantify CK5 expression in various tissues and cell types. Its versatility allows for the investigation of CK5's role in normal tissue development, as well as its potential involvement in pathological conditions, such as cancer.

The Cytokeratin 5 Polyclonal Antibody is supplied in a convenient and ready-to-use format, ensuring ease of use and minimizing experimental variability. It is available in different sizes to accommodate various experimental needs.

In summary, the Cytokeratin 5 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying CK5 protein expression and its functional implications. Its high specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it an essential component of any research project aiming to elucidate the role of CK5 in epithelial biology and disease.
