The protein encoded by CCND2 (cyclin D2) belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, whose members are characterized by a dramatic periodicity in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins function as regulators of CDK kinases. Different cyclins exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns which contribute to the temporal coordination of each mitotic event. This cyclin forms a complex with CDK4 or CDK6 and functions as a regulatory subunit of the complex, whose activity is required for cell cycle G1/S transition. This protein has been shown to interact with and be involved in the phosphorylation of tumor suppressor protein Rb. Knockout studies of the homologous gene in mouse suggest the essential roles of this gene in ovarian granulosa and germ cell proliferation. High level expression of CCND2 was observed in ovarian and testicular tumors. Mutations in CCND2 are associated with megalencephaly-polymicrogyria-polydactyly-hydrocephalus syndrome 3 (MPPH3).

The Cyclin D2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of Cyclin D2 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human Cyclin D2 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.

The Cyclin D2 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying cell cycle regulation and cancer biology. Cyclin D2 is a key regulator of the G1 phase of the cell cycle and is frequently overexpressed in various types of cancer. The ability to detect Cyclin D2 protein levels in biological samples can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of cancer development and progression.

This antibody has been extensively validated for specificity and sensitivity, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. It is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. The antibody is available in various sizes to meet the needs of different research applications.

In summary, the Cyclin D2 Polyclonal Antibody is a high-quality, reliable, and specific tool for the detection of Cyclin D2 protein in various biological samples. Its use can provide valuable insights into the mechanisms of cancer development and progression, making it an essential tool for cancer researchers.
