COL7A1 encodes the alpha chain of type VII collagen. The type VII collagen fibril, composed of three identical alpha collagen chains, is restricted to the basement zone beneath stratified squamous epithelia. It functions as an anchoring fibril between the external epithelia and the underlying stroma. Mutations in this gene are associated with all forms of dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. In the absence of mutations, however, an acquired form of this disease can result from an autoimmune response made to type VII collagen.
The COL7A1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of collagen type VII alpha 1 chain (COL7A1) in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human COL7A1 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is suitable for use in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA.
The COL7A1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of COL7A1 in various biological processes, including skin development, wound healing, and cancer progression. This antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity, ensuring accurate and reliable results in experimental settings.
In summary, the COL7A1 Polyclonal Antibody is a high-quality research reagent that offers exceptional performance and versatility for the detection of COL7A1 in various biological samples. Its superior quality and reliability make it an ideal choice for researchers seeking to advance their understanding of the role of COL7A1 in various biological processes.
