COL5A2 encodes an alpha chain for one of the low abundance fibrillar collagens. Fibrillar collagen molecules are trimers that can be composed of one or more types of alpha chains. Type V collagen is found in tissues containing type I collagen and appears to regulate the assembly of heterotypic fibers composed of both type I and type V collagen. COL5A2 product is closely related to type XI collagen and it is possible that the collagen chains of types V and XI constitute a single collagen type with tissue-specific chain combinations. Mutations in this gene are associated with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, types I and II.

The COL5A2 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of COL5A2 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human COL5A2 protein. The antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is supplied as a liquid solution in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative.

The COL5A2 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in various applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence. It has been shown to specifically recognize the COL5A2 protein in human, mouse, and rat tissues, making it a versatile tool for researchers studying collagen biology and extracellular matrix remodeling.

This antibody is available in various sizes and formats to suit different experimental needs. It is recommended to use this antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 for Western blotting and 1:200 for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. The COL5A2 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and high-quality reagent that can help researchers advance their understanding of collagen biology and related diseases.
