Cofilin 1 encoded by CFL1 can polymerize and depolymerize F-actin and G-actin in a pH-dependent manner. Increased phosphorylation of this protein by LIM kinase aids in Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. Cofilin is a widely distributed intracellular actin-modulating protein that binds and depolymerizes filamentous F-actin and inhibits the polymerization of monomeric G-actin in a pH-dependent manner. It is involved in the translocation of actin-cofilin complex from cytoplasm to nucleus.
The Cofilin Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of cofilin protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human cofilin protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards cofilin protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications such as western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
The Cofilin Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples, and has been extensively tested to ensure consistent and reliable results. This antibody is supplied as a liquid formulation in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. It is recommended to store the antibody at -20°C for long-term storage and to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Overall, the Cofilin Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying cofilin protein and its role in various biological processes. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications in both basic and clinical research.
