In response to DNA damage and replication blocks, cell cycle progression is halted through the control of critical cell cycle regulators. The checkpoint kinase 2 encoded by CHEK2 is a cell cycle checkpoint regulator and putative tumor suppressor. It contains a forkhead-associated protein interaction domain essential for activation in response to DNA damage and is rapidly phosphorylated in response to replication blocks and DNA damage. When activated, the encoded protein is known to inhibit CDC25C phosphatase, preventing entry into mitosis, and has been shown to stabilize the tumor suppressor protein p53, leading to cell cycle arrest in G1. In addition, this protein interacts with and phosphorylates BRCA1, allowing BRCA1 to restore survival after DNA damage. Mutations in this gene have been linked with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, a highly penetrant familial cancer phenotype usually associated with inherited mutations in TP53. Also, mutations in this gene are thought to confer a predisposition to sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors. This nuclear protein is a member of the CDS1 subfamily of serine/threonine protein kinases. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

The cGKII Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of cGKII protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human cGKII protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards cGKII protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications such as Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.

The cGKII Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples, and has been extensively tested for its specificity and sensitivity. It recognizes a single band of approximately 85 kDa in Western blot analysis of various tissues and cell lines, and shows minimal cross-reactivity with other related proteins. This antibody is also suitable for use in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, where it can be used to detect cGKII protein in tissue sections and cultured cells.

In summary, the cGKII Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and high-quality antibody that can be used for the detection of cGKII protein in various biological samples. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal tool for researchers studying the role of cGKII in various physiological and pathological processes.
