Cell division cycle 23 encoded by CDC23 shares strong similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc23, a protein essential for cell cycle progression through the G2/M transition. This protein is a component of anaphase-promoting complex (APC), which is composed of eight protein subunits and highly conserved in eukaryotic cells. APC catalyzes the formation of cyclin B-ubiquitin conjugate that is responsible for the ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis of B-type cyclins. This protein and 3 other members of the APC complex contain the TPR (tetratricopeptide repeat), a protein domain important for protein-protein interaction.
The Cdc23 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for the detection of Cdc23 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human Cdc23 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence assays.
The Cdc23 protein is a key component of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), which is a large multi-subunit E3 ubiquitin ligase that regulates cell cycle progression and mitotic exit. The Cdc23 protein plays a critical role in the activation of the APC/C and the subsequent degradation of key cell cycle regulators, such as cyclin B and securin. Dysregulation of the APC/C-Cdc23 pathway has been implicated in various human diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
The Cdc23 Polyclonal Antibody is an essential tool for researchers studying the role of the APC/C-Cdc23 pathway in cell cycle regulation and disease pathogenesis. This antibody is available in various sizes and formats to suit different experimental needs. It is recommended for use in a variety of applications, including Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the Cdc23 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and valuable reagent for any research project involving the APC/C-Cdc23 pathway.
