CASP1 encodes a protein (caspase 1) which is a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce 2 subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This gene was identified by its ability to proteolytically cleave and activate the inactive precursor of interleukin-1, a cytokine involved in the processes such as inflammation, septic shock, and wound healing. This gene has been shown to induce cell apoptosis and may function in various developmental stages. Studies of a similar gene in mouse suggest a role in the pathogenesis of Huntington disease. Alternative splicing results in transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
The Caspase-1 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive tool designed for the detection and quantification of Caspase-1 protein in various biological samples. This antibody has been rigorously tested and validated to ensure its reliability and accuracy in experimental settings.
Caspase-1, also known as interleukin-1 beta converting enzyme (ICE), is a crucial enzyme involved in the inflammatory response and programmed cell death. It plays a pivotal role in the activation and maturation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and interleukin-18 (IL-18). Dysregulation of Caspase-1 activity has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer.
The Caspase-1 Polyclonal Antibody has been developed using high-quality immunogens and advanced immunization techniques. It exhibits exceptional specificity towards Caspase-1, with minimal cross-reactivity to other related caspases. This antibody recognizes both the pro-form and the active form of Caspase-1, enabling comprehensive analysis of its expression and activation status.
This antibody is suitable for a wide range of applications, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry. It has been optimized for use in various species, including human, mouse, and rat, ensuring its versatility and applicability in diverse research fields.
The Caspase-1 Polyclonal Antibody offers numerous advantages over other commercially available antibodies. Its high sensitivity allows for the detection of low-abundance Caspase-1 protein, even in complex biological samples. Its exceptional specificity ensures accurate and reliable results, minimizing false positives and false negatives. Furthermore, this antibody exhibits excellent reproducibility and consistency, making it an ideal choice for both routine laboratory experiments and large-scale research projects.
In summary, the Caspase-1 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying the role of Caspase-1 in various biological processes and disease conditions. Its high specificity, sensitivity, and versatility make it an indispensable asset in the field of molecular biology and immunology.
