Caldesmon

This antibody is specific to high molecular weight (120-150 kDa) h-caldesmon. Caldesmon is involved in smooth muscle and non-muscle contraction. Two closely related variants of human caldesmon have been identified. The hcaldesmon variant is predominantly expressed in smooth muscle, whereas lcaldesmon (71-80 kD) is found in non-muscle tissue and cells.
